The Promotion Meeting for Implementing the Achievements of the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, hosted by Shandong Province, was held in Beijing.

On April 3rd, the Promotion Meeting for Implementing the Achievements of the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, hosted by Shandong Province, was convened in Beijing. Themed “Contributing Local Strength to Jointly Promote Modernization between China and Africa,” the event was organized by the Shandong Provincial Government, the AU Mission to China, and the Embassy of Congo (Brazzaville) in China, with the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Province undertaking the arrangements. This innovative initiative aims to implement China’s cooperation strategy with Africa, fulfilling Shandong’s mission to lead and shoulder major responsibilities, providing a platform for policy communication, demand alignment, friendship deepening, and joint development between Shandong and African countries, contributing to building a new era of all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future.

Deputy Minister Li Mingxiang of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Governor Song Junji of Shandong Province, Ambassadors from Mozambique, Senegal, Uganda, Tanzania, Morocco, Congo (Brazzaville), and Acting Head of the AU Mission to China attended the meeting along with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, the United Nations Development Programme, and other relevant entities.

Li Mingxiang highlighted that Shandong plays an important role in cooperation with Africa, especially in agriculture, industry, and transportation sectors. The convening of this promotion meeting is a concrete action responding to China’s cooperation strategy with Africa, showcasing Shandong’s commitment to promoting China-Africa cooperation. He hoped all parties would deepen key areas of cooperation, innovate cooperation models, and inject new momentum into China-Africa cooperation.

Song Junji expressed that Shandong will thoroughly implement the summit spirit, actively integrate into the new pattern of constructing a new era of all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future, and continuously push cooperation with Africa to higher levels.

The Ambassador of Congo (Brazzaville) to China, Jacques Nyannga, stated that Shandong’s hosting of this promotion meeting reflected the common vision of establishing efficient cooperation mechanisms and implementing summit achievements. Shandong has closely cooperated with African countries in green development, industrial collaboration, friendship city exchanges, cultural education, making positive contributions to deepening China-Africa relations.

The meeting also featured presentations from Shandong cities including Weifang, Weihai, Linyi, Dezhou, and Binzhou, introducing their cooperation plans, supporting policies, and advantageous sectors concerning Africa. Ambassadors explained their countries’ participation plans in the “FOCAC Beijing Action Plan (2025-2027),” introduced specific cooperation needs, and Shandong enterprises shared their key cooperation projects and platform initiatives in Africa.

Over 150 participants, including officials from provincial departments, city leaders from Weifang, Weihai, Linyi, Dezhou, Binzhou, and representatives from more than 50 Shandong enterprises attended the meeting.
